K. F. Barker

Full name: Kathleen Frances Barker. British illustrator and artist and author. Her specialist subjects in art were horses and dogs, reflecting her interests in horses and hunting. She is perhaps best known for her many dog stories and canine illustrations but she also illustrated a number of pony books including an edition of Black Beauty by Anna Sewell, Phari and Zong by M. E. Buckingham and the Khyberie books by Major Enriquez.

As well as illustrating books, she also wrote one pony novel of her own, plus a couple of non-fictional equine books and a short pony story.
